It’s Wednesday, people! Can I get a “what, what”? After yesterdays scrambling, I decided to go back to the basics with one of my favorite kind of looks – a pencil skirt and button-down, or up, whatever works for you. I could wear this kind of look every day to the office and be perfectly happy. But I suppose that would be a pretty boring blog if you knew what I was going to be wearing every day, now wouldn’t it?
As you can see, I do wear pieces in my closet more than once. I wore this tan pencil skirt just last week and I feel the way I am wearing it today has a completely different feel to it. It is such a great neutral that it literally goes with everything. I’m telling you, if you don’t have this in your wardrobe you definitely need to change that. See, I’m giving you an excuse to go shopping.
I added a nice braided cognac belt and sandals for a more relaxed aspect. If I had used a black belt and heels the whole look would have changed into a more formal feel. Plus to me a cognac belt and shoes can pull anything together into a cohesive look. I swear it’s true – just give it a try and you will see what I mean.
I added a bright pop of turquoise, which to me just feels like summer against the white. A simple pair of diamond studs complete today’s look.

So that’s my look for today. Hopefully I’ve shown you how basic pieces don’t have to necessarily be boring when you add a few simple pieces to dress them up a bit.
