Time for a mid-week pick me up and I believe today’s look fits the bill impeccably. Just so y’all know, I love to sew. It comes in quite handy when I have something in mind that I really want, but cannot find. Or can find and it doesn’t fit. Or find and it’s priced ridiculously. Whatever the reason, it is a nice skill to have and be able to call on as needed. Of course, I love sewing just for fun, too. This skirt falls into the just for fun category. It’s actually a tiny black polka dot, which you will be able to see in a later photo. I saw this fabric and immediately thought I should make it into this skirt, as this inverted pleat pattern is one of my recent faves for skirts.
You can see the tiny polka dots better here. Really cute, huh? I love this flower belt, too. It actually came with a sweater I picked up a couple of seasons ago and I find use for this belt with all sorts of looks.
I added a simple short sleeve black button down to pick up the black dots. I really wanted a toned down background so all of the fancy pieces I added to this look would really stand out and also not be overwhelming.
My piece de resistance of the whole look are these hot pink heels with ribbon bows. The great thing about a neutral black and white outfit is the ability to wear any color shoe you want. These are some of my very favorite shoes in my whole collection.
I wanted something feminine and pretty with this look, so I added some large bling in my necklace and earrings. I used to not consider myself a girly girl, but I have found over the years I really do like a feminine, girly look. It’s nice to feel pretty.
