First of all, let me just say I am super excited to have a new DSLR camera thanks to my Amazing husband! I swear, he is the Best! It arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to put it to use. There is so much to learn. I’ve had one in the past as the boys were growing up, but honestly I was always more about using the automatic point and shoot settings most of the time. Periodically I would practice with the manual settings, but they never quite clicked with me. The hubs on the other hand picked it up pretty quickly. This time around I plan to really dive in and become more skilled. Especially as I want my photos on this blog to look much better. Anyway, today I am still in point and shoot mode, but promise to improve soon.
I have been wanting to try a look like this for a while. Taking a plain, casual tee and mixing it up with what is generally considered a more professional piece, a pencil skirt. I really like how it relaxes the whole look for a casual summer office look.
I also chose a grey tee and fun, bright blue for a lighter feel, and a mint statement necklace to dress up the tee just a bit. I love how a little mint makes everything fresh.
Finished off my look with these silver cage heels. Not only do they pick up on the grey from my tee, but I love how silver and blue look together. Plus these shoes add a fun little edge.
Wearing: Tee – JCP // Skirt – NY&CO. // Shoes – Fergalicious // Necklace – Target
Have you tried a tee and pencil skirt yet? I’m really liking this look for summer and am sure I will be trying more color combinations soon.
