This is one of those dresses that worked out better theoretically than it does in real life – in my opinion, anyway. I saw this dress and thought it had all the makings of a great look – lovely color, adorable bird pattern, lightweight fabric, nice button detailing, interesting tabbed sleeves and a drawstring waistband.Oh – and pockets! It was my size and since I was in a hurry I didn’t try it on and figured if it didn’t fit I would just return it. Cue three months later and I finally decide to try it on and wear it. Hmmm, it’s a little blousy and I’m not sure I am really feeling the drawstring waistband. Of course the receipt is long gone at this point. I do still love the color and the cute bird print, though. After looking at my photos it occurred to me I might try belting this next time for more definition versus just counting on the drawstring. One good thing I have learned since blogging is if you have a doubt about a look just take a couple of quick photos for a more realistic idea of how it truly looks. You can add and edit as you see fit. It really can make a huge difference.
