So today’s look was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest ages ago and finally decided to recreate and make it my own.
I like the basic contrasting color scheme, the fitted top, the full skirt, and most importantly to me – the dramatic bow. Since I didn’t particularly want to go out and buy matching identical pieces, I used a little creativity. I love the tee-iny stripes on this skirt which add nice visual interest to this full skirt, but since I don’t have one with thin stripes out came my quilted white full skirt that also offers the pleats, subtle detail and the fullness. I also do not own a dark bow blouse (I need to get on that!), I went with a black blouse, fitted black cardigan and chiffon scarf. The scarf gave me the perfect large, dramatic bow I was looking for! Since it’s chilly I decided to add black tights and my lovely suede double strap Mary Janes to complete the look.
Wearing – Cardigan – Worthington, JCPenney // Shirt – Worthington, JCPenney // Skirt – Worthington, JCPenney (Option) // Shoes – Jellpop, Old
It’s not an exact re-creation, but it definitely has the vibe I was going for and I am happy with how it all came together. Especially since it meant working with what I already had!
