Happy Saturday, y’all! I know it has been quite awhile since I have done a weekend post, but I was feeling inspired and wanted to strike while the iron was hot.
Have you heard about Dollar Shave Club yet? I first heard about them from Kristen over at See You in a Porridge. I met Kristen through Go Chic or Go Home and must say she is one beautiful, funny, cool, Aussie expat who blogs about her life, travel, books, cats, and friendships. Plus she loves my all time favorite book “Pride and Prejudice” just as much as I do and collects different editions like I collect shoes. I could go on and on about her witty banter and charm, but I digress. Kristen shares my same sense of budget buying, so when she posted Shaving Time and Money , I decided I needed to check out Dollar Shave Club for myself. They are a subscription service providing razors and other manly products, such as Shave Butter, Post Shave, and One Wipe Charlies.
As I was thinking of stocking stuffers for my guys at Christmas I decided to sign them up for this service. First of all, razors are expensive if you buy them from regular retail stores. I’m talking at least $15 a pop for three replacement cartridges. Dollar Shave Club offers blade subscriptions that range from $1 to $9 a month. I chose the mid-priced $6, 4 blade razor subscription, which includes one handle and 4 blade cartridges. That’s 8 blade cartridges for only $12! I did a separate subscription for each of them because of logistics, but you can also purchase an additional handle for only $4 if you have multiple users in the same household.
Second, I know it is only razors, but we all enjoy receiving little packages in the mail just for us, am I right?! So it takes the everyday up just a notch.
Third, I plan to throw in random surprises in their boxes throughout the year for a little bonus factor. Hunter and Spencer’s first boxes included Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter, which got four thumbs up.
Fourth, you can change your plan anytime and even the frequency. Since my guys aren’t at full-on beard stage yet, their subscription boxes will arrive every two months. There are zero shipping charges or commitments. You can try it for a month and cancel anytime. But, seriously, you have to buy this stuff anyway, so why not pay a lot less for it?
I have been in no way compensated or sponsored by Dollar Shave Club for this post. This is just such a fabulous deal and I wanted to spread the word! However, if you do decide you want to check it out and use this link I will receive a $5 credit for referrals, which is something the company offers to anyone who signs up and refers a friend.
If you have a guy in your life who shaves, I definitely recommend this service. Heck, you might even decide you want it for yourself!
