Meanwhile, I thought I would do a different type blog post today to ease myself back into it. I apologize ahead of time that these photos were taken on my phone and are not the best. So just before Thanksgiving I got it in my head I wanted a coffee station in my kitchen, which doesn’t really make a lot of sense because I don’t even drink coffee. Let’s just blame Pinterest. Since this was a whim decision I wasn’t about to spend a lot of money and began frequenting my local thrift stores to find the perfect piece to fit the small area in my kitchen designated for the coffee station. I found this hideous old school microwave cart for only $10. Now to start transforming it.
First stop was Lowes to pick out the perfect pop of bright green. My kitchen has grey walls, white trim, black cabinets and I am accenting with bold green. Yea, this color was perfect for me! By the way, I stained the cabinets, painted the walls and installed the subway tile myself. One day maybe I will post a before and after of the space.
This was after a rough sand, couple of coats of primer, and first coat of paint. Already looking so much better!
And Voila! I had so much fun shopping for all of the mugs, storage containers, and cute decor. I store my cookbooks behind the louvered door and am enjoying the multi-functionality. I chose to not go with a Keurig because the guys around here prefer fresh ground beans, while I like Chai tea. The unit I chose has options for K-cups and ground, so it’s a win-win all around. Now I look for different coffee blends all the time and enjoy this little space so much; it’s especially great for family gatherings!
Hope you enjoyed this post and I plan to try be back with normal outfit posts tomorrow.
