Happy November 1st! Today I am sharing the costume I wore last night for Halloween. Those of you who follow me on Instagram already saw a sneak peek. Since it took a bit of effort and will probably be the only time I wear this costume, I, of course, had to capture it in a few pictures for posterity’s sake.
I originally was inspired to try this idea after reading Miriam’s post on last minute costumes. I hadn’t really put any thought into what I was going to wear yet and the idea of a Grayscale costume really intrigued me, especially since I knew I could just mix amd match pieces I already owned. The most difficult part was making my skin grey. I tried the halloween makeups sold with costumes for my practice trial run at the office on Friday and they didn’t work very well – the coverage wasn’t even, it was itchy, and also caused my eyes to water (even though I didn’t actually use it on my eyes). So last night I went with a different tactic and tried face paint with much better results.
Overall, I love how it all came together. I received a ton of compliments on my costume as we were handing out candy last night. A few young children weren’t sure what to think – I believe the grey makeup scared them. Ooops.
In case you missed last year’s amazing costume – you can check it out here.
