Happy Monday! I hope y’all enjoyed your weekend. Mine has been non-stop since Friday. I truly spent this entire weekend working around my home because I have felt like my to-do list has grown ten-fold over the past few weeks. I am loathe to admit it, but I am sore from the constant movement, traipsing up and down stairs, and bending over repeatedly. Seems like a sure sign I need to get back in the gym on the regular.
Today’s look is one I actually wore a few weeks ago when there was leisure time on the schedule. I love these patterned shorts and wear them fairly often. The bright colors and bold pattern just really make me happy. Plus I like the flattering fit and length. I usually choose shorts with a 5″ inseam because they hide the widest parts of my thighs, offer decent coverage, and lengthen my legs. Leg lengthening is of prime importance when you are petite.
What I’m Wearing:
[li]Top – Rose & Olivia, Marshall’s[/li]
[li]Shorts – Nicole by Nicole Miller, JCPenney (option, option, option)[/li]
[li]Sandals – NY&Co.[/li]
[li]Necklace – Amazon[/li]
I’ve worn these shorts with a variety of colors in the past, pulling from the multiple shades they feature. This time around I chose a thin navy top and picked up on the turquoise with my necklace. You would be surprised at how versatile this turquoise pendant necklace is, particularly in warmer weather. I find myself reaching for it all the time. I completed the look with a simple gold thong sandal because I was going to be walking a lot that particular day.
How do you feel about patterned shorts, or shorts, on general? I happen to love wearing them and have quite a variety in my wardrobe. I really enjoy the options they offer my summer wardrobe, as well as how easily they can be dressed up or down. This summer I do plan on showcasing more short looks than I have the past couple of years, especially since I do have a range to choose from. Again, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
