I mentioned earlier in the year I would be starting some new regular features around here. So far I have The Fab 40’s, The Ageless Style Link-up, Fabulous Friday and now new to the lineup is Work It Wednesday. I will be featuring ways to remix pieces or transform a look through simple changes. Hopefully this will be a feature you find enjoyable and helpful. I can so remember never even considering other ways to style what was in my closet. If I purchased a top to go with a certain pair of pants, then those pants were the Only thing I wore it with. End of story. Now I look back and am not in the least bit surprised my wardrobe was on the boring side. My hope is this new little feature will keep you from being in that same boat and encourage you to work that wardrobe!
For this inaugural post I decided to show a recent casual Friday look I wore to the office (we are a bit more relaxed in the summer) and how I changed it up for the weekend. I wore the exact same top, cami, and jeans and just changed out my accessories and shoes for a completely different style. Wearing the checked shirt open makes this look even more relaxed. As this shirt is very sheer, it works well as a completer piece without extra bulk in hot weather and is a fab way to extend your wardrobe even further.
I love this tassel necklace from Yosa and have been reaching for it repeatedly since I received it. ♥
What I’m Wearing:
[li]Top – NY&Co.[/li]
[li]Cami – NY&Co.[/li]
[li]Jeans – jcp, JCPenney[/li]
[li]Sandals – Lucky Brand[/li]
[li]Shoes – Converse All Stars[/li]
[li]Tassel Necklace – Yosa[/li]
[li]Bar Necklace – Charming Charlie[/li]
[li]Silver Bar Necklace – Charming Charlie[/li]
[li]Bracelet Stack – Charming Charlie[/li]
[li]Cuff – Charming Charlie[/li]
So what do you think about this new feature? At the moment I have plans to incorporate Work It Wednesday the third Wednesday every month (ok, I am behind a week this month…), but if the response is positive and I can get my act together enough, I may add one more to my editorial calendar. Meanwhile, I would love to hear from you and would greatly appreciate suggestions for items you would like to see remixed or restyled. Which reminds me, thank you, Kathy (you know who you are), for inspiring me to undertake this new project based on the questions you’ve sent me. ♥
