This weekend I spent a lot of time preparing meals to get myself back on track with a Paleo/Primal eating plan. Yep, I have fallen off the wagon these past few months and it is starting to show. While I still tried to maintain a loose clean eating style for the most part, there were definite moments of complete neglect. I blame the heat – Ha! Seriously, who wants to be cooking when it is 900 degrees? When it comes to eating right there is plenty of cooking involved and one week I decided to take an easier route. This made it even easier to slide down that slope the next week. Then the next. Finally I am facing the reality of not feeling comfortable in my own skin again. Yep, living on the fringe was not doing me any favors and I am back to being dedicated to a healthier eating plan. For all of those who follow me on Pinterest, you may have seen an increase on my Paleo, Please board this weekend. Now you know why.
I have been reluctant to jump on the fringe train. It is not really my style. I have enjoyed my fringed kimono, and crocheted duster cardigan, and even this crocheted vest, but I didn’t necessarily think the fringe was overt. Now these sandals, on the other hand, give a hefty dose of fringe! I purchased them several weeks back when my best friend and I were shopping after having a much needed catch-up lunch date. We headed to one of my favorite shoe haunts – Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse – because I was searching for a summer leopard print shoe. Alas, there were no leopard print sandals or wedges to be found. However, these cute fringed sandals caught my eye and the price was right, so I figured, “Why not?” I rarely leave a shoe store without anything, so I decided to take a chance on them. They are fun and fill a gap in my wardrobe.
