So I mentioned earlier this week it has been crazy around here. I received a phone call shortly before noon Monday morning from a police officer informing me my house had been broken into, they had a suspect in custody, and I needed to come home. The room suddenly seemed unsteady as disbelief and panic set in. I immediately remembered as I was heading out that morning standing on my front porch with both hands full of things to take to the office and thinking I will set the alarm when I get inside the truck. Needless to say after I had everything loaded I promptly forgot to arm the alarm. Thank goodness a watchful neighbor was paying attention. She thought something seemed amiss, and her suspensions were confirmed when she saw the person carrying out one of our large flat screen televisions. I won’t go into all the details, but the suspect was apprehended trying to flee from my property, there was a long bit of forensics combing over my home and yard, then later tons of cleaning from all of the fingerprinting. Hopefully next week we can reclaim our items that are currently in custody.
This was actually what I was wearing when I received the call Monday. It is not something I would normally wear to the office, but I knew this was going to be a short week and we tend to be more relaxed then, so I figured, “Why, not?”. A split sleeve blouse is a wonderful way to try a new trend if you do not feel as though you can make an off the shoulder top or cold shoulder work for you. I know as we grow older we may not feel as confident showing off our arms. A split sleeve top shows just a bit of skin, while still remaining covered for the most part. I really like the criss-cross detail on the neckline of this particular top, as well as the hi-lo hemline. This time around I layered over a nude cami for a seamless fort of look, but will certainly try it with other colors to make a more defined statement in the future.

Last week’s most clicked link was from Deena of Shoes to Shiraz. Super cute look for summer and her denim vest is a perfect summer completer piece.
Jaymie shared how she is transitioning her romper for fall and I loved it. Looking fab, Jaymie!
Audrey of Five Foot Nothing Shopping really wowed in this colorful transition look. I recently wore something very similar, so maybe I am a little biased, but I love this.
