Disclosure: The dress in this post was provided to me. All thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
How was your weekend? I spent some time cooking, planning out my week ahead, cooking, relaxing, and catching up on taking blog photos. While ideally the time change works to my advantage since I prefer to take photos first thing in the morning, the reality has been I’ve been running too late the last couple of weeks for it to actually happen. When I do weekend shoots, I always take photos of what I wore during the week or what I will be wearing the week ahead. I am a firm believer in showcasing what I actually wear in real life and not just something I put together for a photo op. There are exceptions here and there, like for Work It Wednesday, The Fab 40’s, and Ageless Style, but even then I try to plan ahead and incorporate the theme into my real life as often as I can.
I have actually been wanting to add a cooler weather maxi dress to my wardrobe for awhile, so when the opportunity presented itself and I saw this long sleeved, navy, floral dress I thought it checked off everything I had in mind. I always pay really close attention to the size measurements for accuracy, as well as whether or not the material has stretch when determining what size to order. As I have a larger chest, I tend to pay most attention to the bust measurements, because as long as that fits everything else will be just fine. While I do like the long sleeves of this dress, and the dark color, I will say the fabric itself is a bit thin for wearing when the temps really start to dip. I would add a thermal tee and fleece lined leggings underneath for those days.
One more thing I did this weekend – I finally set up a Facebook page for the blog. So, I am hoping you will follow A Pocketful of Polka Dots there and spread the love, as well. ♥
