The Ageless Style Link-Up – The first Tuesday of every month nine over 40 bloggers present a different style theme and show a myriad of ways to wear it, all the while proving you can still be fashionable and on trend over 40 and beyond.
This month’s theme of a Shopping Outfit is incredibly apropos as we all know the biggest shopping day of the year comes this month. I am sure that’s why Nicole selected it – so we can offer our thoughts and hopefully some inspiration prior to the big day. To be perfectly honest, I am not a Black Friday shopper. Way back in the day, when the boys were really young, I enjoyed getting out early and stalking some amazing deals. Not so anymore. I am claustrophobic and the crowds are more than I can take, so you can always find me at home enjoying a rest day after all of the Thanksgiving preparations that have taken place all week long. However, I am an avid shopper, in general, so I do have thoughts to share on this subject.
No matter what time of year it is, I usually always choose a variation of neutral basics, a completer piece, and comfortable shoes. I find wearing a neutral top and bottom helpful so when I am trying on other items, I am wearing something that will automatically go with everything, therefore, giving me a clearer idea of how well new items will actually work. The comfortable shoe part is pretty self explanatory, but I also like to select something easy to get in and out of quickly. The completer piece for me is a way to keep my basics from being boring. However, this time a year, it is also about keeping warm without necessarily needing a full on coat. I am loving this lined statement jacket – it’s a good medium weight – perfect for fall. And talk about how it keeps my blacks from being drab!
Tee – Target
Booties – Sofft ( and they live up to their brand name!)
Pants – Slim City, Gap| Option
Necklace – Charming Charlie
Now it’s time to see how everyone else dresses to shop till they drop! Here is the rest of the Ageless Style Crew – please stop by and see what they have to share for this month’s theme.
