The Ageless Style Link-Up – The first Tuesday of every month nine over 40 bloggers present a different style theme and show a myriad of ways to wear it, all the while proving you can still be fashionable and on trend over 40 and beyond.
Welcome to this month’s edition of The Ageless Style Link-up. Shelly of The Queen in Between is this month’s host and chose our theme of Holiday Style. It couldn’t be more perfect as we all have endless holiday parties and dates to dress for in December, including Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Holiday style can run the gamut of fun, ugly sweater parties, to casual cookie baking get-togethers, and more formal dressy events. Since this theme is open to interpretation and what our typical holiday schedule might include, you are certain to see a wide variety of styles represented by our Ageless Style group.
For Christmas Eve and Christmas day I typically like to wear something that offers a bit of glam to the mix. I look at holidays as the perfect time to wear pieces I love and do not have the opportunity to wear throughout the year. I adore this fringed sequin skirt – It is so sparkly and rather cheeky! I have worn it for New Year’s Eve, and thought it would be perfect this time around for Christmas. Adding a bright red sweater tones it down just a bit, while still keeping it festive. I decided to wear this particular silver tassel necklace because it reminds me of an ornament to a certain degree. The diamond print stockings add a subtle print with a touch of sexy (Ha- Now I cannot help but think of A Christmas Story and the infamous leg lamp trophy!) . Finally, I added a patent and suede black pump. I almost went with a dressy bootie, to give this more of a modern edge, but at the end of the day, I was feeling these pumps more.
