I fell in love with a look on Pinterest that involved a red plaid vest (which I would love to have) and a black gingham shirt. As much as I would love to add that vest to my wardrobe, realistically I have too many clothes as it is. So after accessing my closet I decided to take similar pieces I already own and reverse the color palette. I really like wearing this particular vest because it is so soft and warm. You cannot tell it here, but the inside is lined with shearling. Anyway, because it is such a cozy piece I always enjoy finding different ways to wear it, and I like how it works with the red gingham.
In hindsight after going through these photos, I wish I had gone with a skinny jean, as opposed to these looser, boyfriend style. Overall, I think it would have made a more flattering silhouette. At the time when I wore this look a few weeks ago I was away for the weekend and had to work with what I packed. Lessons learned.
