The Fab 40’s is a group of seven stylish fashion bloggers from around the globe. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger who is also in their forties to join us. This group’s goal is to take on style trends and show how we each interpret and incorporate them into our own lives. With eight widely varied views, you are certain to find something that speaks to you each month and encourages you to continue to have fun with fashion after 40.
I loved, loved, loved this month’s theme of leather and lace. I enjoyed putting together several outfits trying to find just the right one and as this one came together piece by piece, I knew I had found my look. Faux leather pants have been on my wishlist for awhile and as I was taking advantage of after Christmas sales I found these (as well as a pair of faux leather leggings), so that worked out well for me to have a few options to play around with. Also over the past few months I have been finding myself drawn to lace, which is pretty different for me, as it is something I have generally considered too girly. Styling this pretty lace tank with the leather pants and my polka dot tuxedo jacket, which I haven’t worn in quite awhile, worked well for the yen and yang feel I enjoy. These lace pumps don’t receive nearly enough love, so they were an ideal way for me to include an extra bit of lace, plus they match my top so well.

Sheela always takes each month’s challenge and makes it truly her own. Her black lace “dress”, fab statement necklace, fierce booties, and soft blush moto jacket make such a gorgeous statement. A look I could never carry off, but definitely admire on She who, without a doubt, can.

I surprised and delighted to see this softer side of Vero with this month’s challenge. She who can carry off edgy like nobody’s business, looks lovely in this flowy, lace dress. Her leather jacket and fabulous studded and buckled booties complete this perfectly.
