For those of you haven’t been by earlier this week I hope you will take just a moment to look around at the new blog design. I love how it all came together and I do still have some minor tweaks to take care of, but after spending my entire weekend doing a complete overhaul, I needed to step away from my computer and the design process. If you any of you bloggers are looking to update any time in the future, I hope you will check out the themes from Hello You Designs. You can customize them completely on your own like I did, or let them do the work for you. Jennifer is amazing and has always offered great technical support whenever I’ve needed it over the past year.
I’ve had this eggplant pencil skirt hanging in my closet with the tags on it for almost three years now. I finally decided something needed to be done about that and wore it to the office earlier this week. I vaguely had an idea I wanted to combine it with this evergreen cardigan and brown pumps for a deep, rich color palette, but wasn’t sure where to go beyond that. I happened to notice this cami hanging there (also with tags still on after months) and couldn’t believe how well the colors matched. Instead of wearing a necklace I chose to go with this pretty brooch that also matched quite well. Finally I added a bit of leopard to break up all this matchy-matchiness.
Side note – I love picking up cute printed camis to wear under my cardigans, denim jackets, and blazers. First of all, they are normally much less expensive than a traditional blouse. Secondly, I prefer the thinner weight for layering without adding extra bulk. Most of mine are from Loft because they always have such a great selection.

Co-Host – Mary of The Real Girl’s Realm
My favorite from last week came from Yvonne of Funky Forty. Y’all know I love a bold color combination, so this look definitely caught my eye. I enjoyed reading her post on how to style color like a fashionista and picked up some great tips. Now hop on over to see who Mary is featuring on her blog this week as her favorite!
