So I was having one of those days where I was running behind. Like Way behind. Thinking back to my series on how to style a tunic and leggings (Part 1, and Part 2), I decided to take my own advice and throw on some basic black leggings and a tunic and build from there. I knew I wanted to wear these floral booties, because I have only worn them once this year and never on the blog. Since I was running so late, I didn’t get particularly creative and reached for this long, tan cardigan and a scarf that would compliment the colors in the booties. Even those look is really basic, I think the statement boots and patterned scarf gave enough enough visual interest to keep it from being boring. I was out the door in five minutes flat, quite comfortable, and still look like I tried.
When you are running behind do you have a certain item you reach for repeatedly, a plan in place to utilize, or just throw on whatever your hands land on and hope for the best?

Co-Host – Fonda of Savvy Southern Chic
Hi, I’m Fonda. I’m a 40-something creative girl who’s discovered that the clothes in my closet can be mixed and that putting together new outfits is as much of a creative outlet as any other art form. When you’re required to wear business wear most of your life in a conservative environment, it becomes a necessity to learn to mix and match to avoid boredom. For years I wore suits and outfits as if they were “uniforms”, only to be worn one way. Then I discovered fashion and style blogs and all the great inspiration they offer. I started my blog to learn what works for me, how to mix and match and how to style myself. So this is really a blog for me, but I hope you find some inspiration too. Come follow my wardrobe journey as I learn to style myself and use what’s in my closet.
My favorite look from last week comes from Ashley of Le Stylo Rouge . This kimono is gorgeous and is a wonderful way to dress up basics. I also love how it compliments her fabulous OTK boots. Make sure you pop on over to Fonda’s blog to see which look she is featuring this week!
