Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Carrie of A Stylish Fit, Fonda of Savvy Southern Chic and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style!
Happiest of Mondays! I am hoping everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Carrie of A Stylish Fit, as she has joined Fonda and me in sharing our 9 to 5 style with you each month. We each work in professional environments and between the three of us hopefully we can provide a variety of styles and ideas to boost your working wardrobe.
This month I selected the general theme of floral as an ode to spring. I left it open ended, just so each one of us incorporated a bit of floral to our look in some way. I chose to style a floral pencil skirt. The majority of my pencil skirts are solids, and I have been slowly adding more printed options for a bit more diversity. I am a push over for pencil skirts, as I feel they are quite figure flattering for a variety of body types. I kept this look business casual with a basic top and cardigan, which is a style I wear often to the office. For a day involving meetings, or when I need to be a bit more professional, I would swap out my cardi for a blazer. Black, white, blush, bright pink, tan and orange blazers are all options in my wardrobe that would work well with this versatile skirt. On casual Fridays I would choose a denim jacket as my completer piece and exchange my pumps for wedges, flats, or sandals.

Disclosure: The hosiery in this post were provided to me. All thoughts are completely my own.
Some professional offices do not permit bare legs and women are required to wear hosiery with their dresses and skirts. My office is not that strict, thank goodness. I do enjoy wearing trendy hose and tights, but I enjoy the fact I have an option. I tried out these nude hose made specifically for peep toe shoes with this ensemble and truly loved how smooth they made my legs look. They are incredibly sheer and I didn’t feel as though anyone would have even known I was wearing hosiery of any kind. I also loved the fact they had built in tummy control which pulled everything in without being uncomfortable. I am looking forward to styling the nude fishnets I also received for the blog sometime very soon. In addition to the these two styles Berkshire also offers thigh highs, trouser socks, anklets, tights, and more. They are available in regular, curvy, and maternity options. A special bridal section has recently been added, too!
