Happy Monday! Did you have a great weekend? I spent most of mine working away trying to finish as many projects on my to-do list as possible before heading back to the office today. Of course, I still have plenty on that list to cross off, and I even found myself adding some more projects for the future. Sunday was a little more relaxed, as I slept in and began to look towards this week. Sundays are usually my meal prep days so I stay on top of eating healthy, or simply eating, throughout the week.
I am super excited to be collaborating with Jodie, Nancy, and Charlotte from the blog Jodie’s Touch of Style this week. Jodie and I started blogging right around the same time and it’s been a pleasure to get to know one another over the years and see our personal style and blogs grow during that time. For those of you who aren’t familiar – Jodie is the 50’s model, her stepmom, Nancy, is the 60’s model, and her mom, Charlotte, is the 70’s model. I always enjoy seeing their take on trends and showing style has no age limit.
This week we are going to be taking on pattern mixing. I love playing with patterns and having fun with my sartorial choices, but I know not everyone feels quite as comfortable trying out pattern mixing. I do admit when I very first began to dip my toes in this area, I also felt a bit odd. Sometimes it is difficult to move past all the things you grew up thinking were passe. After the initial hesitancy, I realized if I felt confident in what I was wearing it didn’t really matter what crazy pattern mixes I put together because the attitude helped pull them off.
Today we are all wearing a printed shoe with another pattern. I do have a lot of printed shoes and when I was looking through my wardrobe I knew I wanted to wear these pretty floral pumps, because spring, and I built my look around them. I actually went with two other patterns just because I couldn’t help myself and because my polka dots and stripes are black and white which feels almost too easy to me. I knew the black and white palette would be perfect with these pretty, colorful pumps. Make sure you stop by Jodie’s Touch of Style to see more of how they incorporated their pattern mix looks with printed shoes!
