The Fab 40’s is a group of four stylish fashion bloggers from around the globe. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger who is also in their forties to join us. This group’s goal is to take on style trends and show how we each interpret and incorporate them into our own lives. With five widely varied views, you are certain to find something that speaks to you each month and encourages you to continue to have fun with fashion after 40.
Hey, y’all! It’s the last Monday of the month, which means it’s time for another round of the Fab 40’s. This is always one of my favorite posts of the month and one I look forward to preparing for. This month it was my turn to select our theme and invite a guest blogger to join us. Typically when it is my turn I select something that will push my style boundaries. I chose ruffles this month, as they are something I rarely wear.
Sooo, it turns out I rarely wear ruffles because I hardly own any, which was something I discovered as I was trying to coordinate my look for this post. Initially I had planned to show the pretty ruffle skirt look I shared recently, but because of sponsor deadlines the timeline didn’t work. As I was perusing the few other ruffle items in my wardrobe, I remembered I’d been wanting to style this ruffle hem maxi dress over pants or jeans for quite awhile, so this seemed an ideal time. As l was pulling out tops that would compliment the colors in this dress, I felt this coral tank worked wonderfully and the fact it also has ruffles made it that much better. Gold accessories a fun belt, and strappy, block heeled sandals pulled everything together perfectly.

I invited my blogging friend, Shelly, of The Queen in Between to join us this month. Shelly and I began blogging right around the same time three years ago and I am constantly finding inspiration from her style. In addition to fashion posts, Shelly also shares recipes, book reviews, travel, and inspirational posts on her blog. Shelly and I are a part of the Ageless Style monthly linkup, and she is also a new member of The Blended Blog. She looks so pretty in her black ruffle tank and shorts. The striped clutch, tassel earrings, and cognac sandals make this a perfect summer date night look. Fabulous way to turn up the heat while staying cool!

Vero keeps her pretty lace ruffle top casual and cool by styling it with raw hem denim shorts and comfy sandals. I always enjoy seeing how she can take a feminine piece and give it her own tomboy chic twist.
