Disclosure: The skirt in this post was provided to me. All thoughts about it are completely my own.
A little late to the party, but this week I completely binged on Big Little Lies. I was hooked after the first episode and thoroughly enjoyed each episode. I have been a fan of Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon since they were in their teens. I can remember watching Nicole in the Disney series Five Mile Creek back in the early 80’s. The Man in the Moon introduced me to Reese and I think I have watched everything she has been in since. Anyway, I was excited about a series featuring both of them. It was quite suspenseful and at times difficult to watch. The catty comments of the community Greek chorus running in the background of each episode truly made me lol. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend it.
Isn’t this just the cutest striped ruffled skirt? Even though I typically do not select softer colors I really liked that aspect of this skirt. The baby blue works well with the wide white and black stripes. The layered ruffles are so fun and festive. Top it all off with a bow tie sash in the front and it is most definitely a statement piece. I kept my styling simple to not compete with all the details of the skirt. I will say the fabric of this skirt was a tad thin and my tee did show through, making a lightweight slip necessary. If I were not tucking something into it I would probably skip this step. Also, as their is no tag sewn into the skirt, it wasn’t immediately apparent to me which was the front and which was the back. After a couple of twists and turns I finally settled on the longer ruffles being turned towards the back. Overall I am pleased with it and think it is a fantastic addition to my wardrobe.
