In recent weeks I have been thinking maybe it is about time to trade in my truck and purchase something smaller. I was thinking about it and I have literally not owned an actual car since Hunter was a baby. It’s been nothing but minivans, SUVs, and my truck for the past 23 years. Hunter has a cute little BMW and whenever I pop behind the wheel for a spin I think, “I am ready for a car again.” Not only would it be nice to drive something considerably smaller (I have to be extra careful in parking lots!), but I wouldn’t mind a vehicle that is much more fuel efficient.
Just as a reminder, this is what I currently drive. Of course, my actual truck has side rails so I can climb into it with my heels and skirts with relative ease. It is pretty fun to drive, though.
Anyway, as I am considering all of this, I am also hesitant to move forward because I realize I will be going through this whole process completely on my own for the first time in my life, which I find daunting. Thankfully, cars.com offers all kinds of information to help guide newbies. They offer great detailed information on how to prepare your vehicle to sell, how to write an effective ad, what you need to do to close the deal, as well as the technical aspects of transferring ownership. There is so much information on how to research car models, finding vehicle value estimates, and car dealers with reviews in your own area. I love the videos and reviews section that features a wealth of information for first-time buyers, as well as car reviews, and multi-car comparisons. I love the fact all the research I need is on one website. As I am reviewing the articles and videos it is nice to see subjects I probably wouldn’t have realized on my own I even needed to know.
My dream car… Maybe this can happen?!
This is Car Seat Safety Week, so those of you have children or grandchildren should check out this article and video on How Cars.com Conducts Car Seat Checks. I also like the fact they share a 2017 car seat check honor roll of vehicles. This is not something I need to be concerned about at this point in my life, but I thought I would pass along the info for those of you who do.
While I am in no huge hurry to have a car payment again, I am pretty excited about the idea of shopping for a car. Thanks to cars.com I feel as though I will be armed with the right information when I am ready to step into unchartered territory.
