Disclosure: The jacket in this post was provided to me. All thoughts about it are completely honest and my own.
So I have been suffering from the worst cold this week. It is definitely not an ideal time, not that any time is truly ideal, but with it being the week before Thanksgiving along with work craziness, I could have done without it. We are all scrambling about preparing for an audit and two federal reviews, plus an internal agency self-assessment and personal reviews, all of which will take place in the coming weeks. The days have been taxing, to say the least. I typically take off the week of Thanksgiving, but that will be a no go this year, as my list of things to do seems to be ever-growing versus dwindling. I am trying to not even think about all the things on the homefront I will have to forgo that I traditionally do the week I am off work.
A bright spot is this fabulous denim military band jacket I picked out from eShakti. This style of jacket has been on my wishlist, so I was thrilled to choose this denim version when I had the opportunity. I have worked with eShakti a couple of other times in the past and was delighted to have another opportunity to collaborate. For those of you not familiar with the company, they are an online clothing retailer who offers affordable customized clothing. You select an item of clothing, choose different styling options (such as neckline, arm length, and hem length), and then submit your exact measurements for a perfect fit at no additional cost. You can also simply select the standard style and sizes if customization and tailoring isn’t your thing.
Since I have a larger chest, I always enjoy being able to take advantage of the customization options. If I purchase shirts with buttons I always have to make sure they are going to button without pulling in this area, which more often than not means the rest of the item will be billowing and not the most flattering. I love that this jacket fits perfectly around my bustline and is more fitted along my waist. The fabric is super soft and comfortable, more like a chambray, plus there are deep pockets. Pockets are always a plus!
I did have a couple of downsides to mention. I didn’t have the option for an exact sleeve length (unless I completely missed it!), so the sleeves are a tad long for me. Also, there is a flap under the zipper, which doesn’t really serve any purpose, in my opinion, and ruins the lines if you want to wear the jacket open. I will be tacking this flap under to clean it up, because I know I will want to wear this open.
