After a very much needed break from work, the blog, and majority of social media, I am ever so slowly easing back into real life again. I had planned to share my annual favorite round-up post last week, but I really wasn’t ready to cut my break short. This worked out well for me all around (especially as it has been too freakin’ cold to even Think about stepping out and taking blog photos), leaving me something to share with you today. Since I do try my best to only share photos of outfits I actually wear in my real day to day life, I don’t know that you would have been very interested in my yoga pants and sweatshirts of the past couple of weeks, anyway.
January – Leather & Lace
I loved how this combination of leather, lace, and polka dots turned out for January’s Fab 40’s theme. This black and white look is anything but boring with its mix of patterns and textures.
February – Moto, Plaid, & Lace
February brought another leather and lace look as one of my favorites. I always love a hard and soft mix and I am smitten by how the bright red plaid scarf ties this ensemble together wonderfully.
In March the Ageless Style bloggers were challenged to style an item that was thrifted. My tweed jacket was a Good Will find and I enjoyed styling it more casually with my flared jeans and lace tank.
April – Pattern Mixing & Striped Handbag
My April selection features a style I enjoy wearing year round – a simple dress and denim jacket combo. Espadrille sandals and my striped tote were warm weather favorites of mine this year.
I had a few looks in May I really loved, but I have to say this vintage wiggle dress featuring Kelly Green was my very favorite. It is such a glamorous dress and I felt like it was made for my curves.
June – Kimono & Step-Hem Jeans
My DIY step-hem jeans are a favorite of mine and have been worn so often the past few months. I enjoyed wearing them with this flowy kimono, tank, espadrille sandals and crochet tote made this a fabulous early summer look.
July – The Fab 40’s in Ruffles
I have to say this look is one that is both outside my style box, but still very me. I can totally see myself wearing everything underneath this maxi dress with a blazer, cardigan, or denim jacket any day of the week. Choosing to complete this look with an open maxi was so fun and I love the statement it made!
August – Blue Stained Glass Skirt
Pencil skirts are my fave and this blue stained glass skirt was a wonderful addition to my wardrobe. Styling it with a classic white top, layered beads, and peep toe pumps kept things pretty and preppy.
September – What to Wear to a Fall Wedding
My houndstooth midi skirt is a gorgeous favorite of mine and I enjoyed styling it for a fall wedding. This top is actually an off the shoulder tee, but I forgot to push the sleeves back down after getting my tripod and camera set up. I still enjoy the final result.
October – Leopard, Lace, & Satin Mules
This leopard cardigan is a go-to item in my closet and dresses up anything I am wearing in no time flat. I have this burgundy lace tank in three different colors and am surprised at how often I wear them – they are just so versatile. Here are my step-hem jeans again. My rose gold mules are so gorgeous and I cannot help but smile whenever I wear them.
November – Secret Celebrity Wedge Booties
This poncho look is really simple, but the little details add up to make a really cute, casual look for cold weather. The striped tee, beanie, chunky scarf, and wedge booties work well together. Plus, I just love how gorgeous these photos turned out with the colorful fall leaves.
December – The Holiday Series, Christmas Style
Polka dots and plaid are a winning combination! The vest and scarf elevate my basic sweater and jeans perfectly.
My Halloween post is always a favorite of mine just because they are so darn fun! This year’s costume choice was dear to my heart since it was in honor of my own sweet foxy lady, Mina.
My final favorite post has nothing to do with any outfit but is one I am very proud of, especially as I have had many readers reach out saying it was one they found very helpful. In the three and a half years I have been blogging I have learned a lot about taking my own blog photos and am glad I finally put it all out there in words.
So that’s it for last year’s roundup. Do you have any favorites that didn’t make my list?
