Last week we enjoyed a few snow days and I took full advantage of the unexpected time off work. I feel as though I accomplished quite a bit during those days, as well as making time to relax. Friday I slept in and binged on a bit of Fixer Upper on Hulu. I am fascinated by Joanna’s gorgeous modern farmhouse aesthetic. Even though I wouldn’t consider farmhouse my style by any means, I do find inspiration in the bright and airy feel of her designs in their home transformations.
This fall and winter I have added quite a few pairs of velvet pants to my wardrobe in a wide variety of colors. These dusty pink Rockstars from Old Navy have surprisingly been a favorite. Initially, I was hesitant about purchasing this color because I wasn’t sure how much wear I would get out of them. The dusty pink shade is so pretty and actually pairs well with several colors – grey, burgundy, dark green, white, blush, teal, and purple quickly come to mind. One reason I have stocked up on several velvet pants is that they are just as comfortable and easy to style as jeans, but are more elevated, meaning I can wear them to the office during the week. Styled with cardigans, blazers, or dressy tops, make them business casual appropriate, especially when also worn with pumps or flats.
