The Ageless Style Link-Up – The first Tuesday of every month ten over 40 bloggers present a different style theme and show a myriad of ways to wear it, all the while proving you can still be fashionable and on trend over 40 and beyond.
Hey, y’all! I am so happy to be back with my first post of the new year with my ageless style friends. We have a couple of new bloggers joining us and I hope you will enjoy their fabulous over forty styles as much I do. I am so happy to welcome Kellyann of This Blonde’s Shopping Bag and Lisa of Classic Style by Lisa to the group. Also, starting with our January post we will be inviting a different over 40 blogger to co-host each month. This will be a fantastic way to introduce you to some over 40 bloggers you may not know, as well as a way for us to share the love for our favorite bloggers!
Cathy selected our theme this month – “everything old is new again”, “what comes around goes around” “the more things change, the more they stay the same” – however you say it, I think we can all agree fashion comes, goes, and inevitably, comes back again. Some trends I love seeing come back in again and immediately jump right on the bandwagon. These flare jeans are a favorite from the last time around and they are a pair I am glad I kept in the back of my closet waiting for their time to shine again.
I have also fully embraced velvet’s comeback and have added several items to my wardrobe over the past few months. This long velvet cardigan with its embroidered bishop sleeves has become a fast favorite, with this being the third time I have worn it in the past couple of weeks. The black velvet and colorful embroidery just lend it to being a very versatile piece that can quickly change up my basics.
Sometimes it is easy to go overboard when wearing throwback styles, which can veer into a costumey territory. While I love how the embroidered velvet and flares have an easy boho vibe and nod to the 70’s and 90’s, I kept things modern with my jewelry and bag. I tried on a velvet choker, and while it was cute, I felt a little try hard in it. Not saying I won’t ever wear a choker with this cardigan, or the flares, it will just be in a different combination.

I debuted my new silver hair on Instagram last week. Of course, it would have to be a super windy day the day I took these photos, so it is all over my head looking crazy. I promise I am not walking around looking like a cockatoo most days!
