A Little about me –
I’m Jennie, a forty something gal making the most of this second half and determined to be much more stylish while doing it. During the day I am an Administrative Assistant, and in my spare time I write this lovely little blog and share parts of myself with you, dear reader. I’m also the mother of two wonderful sons, and dog mommy to one spoiled Pomeranian. I love All the shoes, Jane Austen, baking bread (just not eating it), thunderstorms, being crafty, Scarlett O”Hara, trying out new Paleo recipes, and reading. I love the grace of old Hollywood and dressing like a lady, and enjoy having the flexibility to sometimes Not.
How this all started –
This journey started around four years ago, when I was out shopping. See, my entire life I have been a wearer of black, with a few neutrals thrown in. I suppose I fell under the philosophical thinking of black is effortlessly chic and classic. As I began to try on colorful clothing, which was so outside my norm, I discovered, low and behold, I looked pretty good in colors. My whole shopping world completely opened up. Since I was unaccustomed to wearing color and prints I began to dive into Pinterest and style blogs. I love interior design and sewing, so it didn’t take me very long at all to open up to the same color concepts and begin applying them to my wardrobe. From there I began coordinating my wardrobe on Go Chic or Go Home. I love how you can mix and match your own clothes into outfits without the huge mess in your closet. Then I began posting my daily outfits on Go Chic or Go Home and after all of the positive comments and growing confidence in my own style, I decided to start this blog. I hope to be a style inspiration to others, and particularly to forty something or older ladies, because I am proof that it’s not too late at any age to embrace change, style, color, and trends.
So about the blog name… I have been a lover of polka dots for absolutely ages. My closet is peppered with them – tops, pants, skirts, dresses, tights, sweaters, and shoes. You name it, I’ve got it. My nickname for forever has been Sunshine. As you may imagine, “I got a pocket, pocketful of sunshine” was sung to me a lot. I wanted to go with that, but with a twist that was fashion related, so added my favorite print, which is also associated with me, and there you have it. Plus I like the ways the p’s PoP.
And that is where we are today. I’m happy you are here reading my little corner of the blogosphere and hope you will stick around to see what’s new everyday.
